FROM THE PRESIDENT

TMI = Too much information. Yes, it's a saying that jokingly implies that you gave distasteful information. We are flooded with self-help books on how to succeed in life or how to be happy sites that offer nothing new. These books are often only good for the authors.

Truth is, you probably know what you need to do and how to get there.

Problem is, we don't know or recognize what is preventing us from achieving our goal. So many detours are set up to profit others instead of actually helping us get to our happy state. Then, there is the Hollywood effect where they tell you what your happiness is, when actually they are using you to fulfill
their appetite.

Our minds are rushing highways of information that we don't need. Busy, busy, busy.... keeps you thinking that you are on the right track when you are going in circles wasting your talent and strength.

So, what is the answer? No, “what” is not the answer, it is another detour.

Get rid of the noise. Get away from the bustle. Find that inside voice that has been drowned out by the noises we get used to hearing that block our perception.

I often sit on my back porch early or late in the evening listening to the sounds I have been too busy to hear. Birds singing, dogs barking, wind blowing, lawn mowers in the distant, maybe a train going by, then I drift off into my quiet time appreciating the simpler less complicated things in life.

As a songwriter, this hectic life is what people are trying to escape, only to trade one problem for another.
Help them get away. Write what makes you find your happy place. Like always, I write what I feel I need, maybe you need it too.

Keep writing!
Rick Tate
